2018 Samoyed Club of America National Specialty Show

We're back from St. Louis, MO and are still in recovery mode. It was a fun but exhausting week! We began the week with the eye clinic and everyone passed with flying colors! The results will be sent to the OFA so they will soon be found on their website.

Unfortunately, no ribbon for Mahea but we were proud of how well she showed in an Open Class of 19 bitches. Several people - friends, acquintances and even strangers - approached us outside the ring to compliment her.

On the last day of the show there were a total of 80 dogs and 78 bitches entered in the Best of Breed competition. Keala did well, making it through multiple cuts as the judge slowly reduced the number of dogs before he did the same with the bitches. Ultimately, no prize won but again we received compliments from other exhibitors on Keala's movement and breed type.

Next on the agenda is a breeding between Keala and Mahea. This breeding has been in the works since we brought Mahea into our home back in May 2015 so we're pretty excited!
